TEACHING EXPERIENCE

OWNER, Bentley Voice Studio, New York, NY (September 2007-present)
Provided private vocal instruction for students of all ages and levels from young beginners to experienced professionals. Studio locations in New York City and Binghamton, NY.

MUSIC SPECIALIST, Little Red Schoolhouse, New York, NY (June 2007-present)
Created curriculum and taught a variety of music classes for 4-10 year old students at the school's after school and summer programs.  Taught private voice and piano lessons and classes including “Broadway Bound,” “Sing Your Heart Out,” “Music and Movement,” and “Songs from Around the World.”

CO-FOUNDER/INSTRUCTOR OF MUSIC, A Musical Voyage, Binghamton, NY (July 2004-present)
Created curriculum and taught weekly music class for 4-9 year old students at Tri-Cities Opera. Led activities including movement, improvisation, songs, theater games, listening, and arts and crafts. Provided private voice and piano instruction and accompanied all classes and performances.

RESIDENT ARTIST, Tri-Cities Opera, Binghamton, NY (September 2002- present)
Performed in all main stage operas, concerts, and recitals at Tri-Cities Opera.  Toured to schools throughout New York State and Pennsylvania in educational outreach productions and musical residencies.  Instructed children (K-12) in various aspects of music, movement, and staging.

TEACHING ASSISTANT, Binghamton University, Vestal, NY (September 2002- May 2004)
Maintained extensive studio as a private vocal instructor at the university and taught a group voice class.  Prepared students for voice juries and roles in musical theater productions.  Assisted with music history classes.  Accompanied students for juries and provided administrative help in the music department office, keyboard, and computer labs.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER, Torrington Board of Education, Torrington, CT (May 1998-June 2002) Assisted classroom teachers in subjects including music, math, English, and history in elementary schools throughout northwest Connecticut.  Worked one on one with special needs children.

LITERACY TUTOR, America Reads, New York, NY (September 1998- May 1999)
Assisted head teacher in a kindergarten classroom in Brooklyn, NY to promote literacy in America’s schools.  Worked one on one with students on reading and writing.  Led story time and all musical activities.
